A Bucks County family is grieving after a woman was found dead inside her Bristol Borough home, with authorities now investigating the case as a homicide.
Police responded to the home on the 1300 block of Wood Street near Taylor Street early Thursday, August 13, 2026. According to court documents, the victim was identified as 54-year-old Dawn Myers. Her son reportedly discovered her body in an upstairs bedroom.
Authorities have charged Michael P. Myers, 59, Dawn Myers’ husband, with criminal homicide and related offenses, including strangulation, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, intimidation of a witness or victim, and possession of an instrument of crime with intent. He was taken into custody and later denied bail.
Investigators said the case began as a response to a possible deceased person. Court documents indicate that police later found evidence inside the home and determined that the death was connected to a domestic incident.
Neighbors described the family as good people and expressed shock over the violence in what had otherwise been considered a quiet community. Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan described the killing as an “unimaginable tragedy.”
The investigation remains active, and the allegations against Myers have not been proven in court.
For Dawn Myers’ loved ones and the Bristol Borough community, the case represents a heartbreaking loss. As investigators continue working to establish the full circumstances, family and friends are left mourning a woman whose life was suddenly taken.
